I purchased a Hondata ECU for my 98 integra gsr. So I am using an OBD1 ecu with a conversion harness. My problem is that I unpredictably get cel 4 codes. Just a reminder, cel 4 is for the crankshaft angle position sensor in the distributor. This has occured with 2 different brand new distributors. I've heard that you need to use a distributor that matches the OBD version of your ECU. Since I'm using an OBD2 distributor is this going to be a problem. I never heard anything about having to swap my distributor when I bought the Hondata ECU.

So if I need an OBD1 distributor is there some sort of conversion harness for the distributor or am I going to have to splice wires.

You do not need an obd1 distributor, your distributor should work just fine.. Check into any possible wiring problems first, perhaps trying another ecu adapter, or checking the connections on the distributor plug on the engine harness?

I just installed my hondata as well on an obd0 crx b16 swap, I also upgraded to obd1 when I did the install. since the dizzy needed to be replaced as part of the upgrade I used a 00' gsr dizzy (obd2). the first time I installed the dizzy I got a code 4, so I checked the dizzy. the haynes manual will tell you which pins for your car, but basically you use an ohm meter across 2 pins to see what it ohms out to, should be 350-700 ohms. then you do another 2 pins, basically 3 pairs in all. if all that checks out plug it back in. mine checked fine and when I plugged it back in and checked for codes the 4 was gone. so it was likely a bad connection. I would double check for solid and clean connections.
