It sounds like there may be a mechanical problem with the timing chain or tensioner that could be causing the error code. The datalogs do not show any errors.

Hi Spunkster thank you for the reply. We have checked the chain, no issues of chain stretch. chain tension is just nice and no issues slack/loose. I thought vtc gear is faulty, as you can see on the datalog attached, vtc ocv plug is Unplugged thus cam is retarded by -20. so that means the vtc gear is still good. this is my first time on hondata kpro and i wont change any table but im still curious and wanted to learn more. Though im a newbie, but i read diagnostic datalog almost everyday but on a factory ecu (Hyundai dealer workshop) but as you know we cant access to the fuel tables etc

is there any way to set the vtc degree? injection time & ignition just wanna play around smartly.. and i wonder is there any official Hondata seminar here around South East Asia

You really need to test the ECU on a known working vehicle and see if it works as it should. If it does then there is either a wiring or mechanical problem.

Hello Spunkster, so far i disabled VTC issue cause the owner said that previous tuner disabled the option. im not sure what camshaft hes currently using. therefore the car can start and idles just fine. switch engine off and tried to restart next morning.

Early in the morning the car wont start, thru the datalog i see the MAP pressure was high, so i decided to unplug the EVAP purge sensor connector. then restart, car starts and idles just fine.. and then plug it back and retest the next morning. and the next morning i did the same, 1st crank the car wont start > unplugged the EVAP purge sensor connector > car starts and idles just fine.

then i disabled purge system on the ECU option and retest the next morning, and the result was still car wont start> unplug Evap sensor connector> then car starts. and also i did remove the hose coming into the sensor

im not sure what happen, is it the purge sensor is faulty or what.

AND yes, i did put the ECU on to the known working car. car starts perfectly...

now im looking for the that datalog that i recorded, will post ASAP

Cheers

It sounds like something is not plumbed correctly or wired correctly since it works on another vehicle without any issues.

What vehicle is this in?

Anyway this is Dc5 type R with hks turbo kit.

Heres the datalog for before and after unplugging purge sensor socket connector.

Cheers

Happy new year 2024.

After few readings from previous datalogs of this car, i found out that the MAP sensor is faulty eventho there are no dtcs regarding on the sensor. now the car starts and no more stalling. no more hard starting in the morning.
