I have a 97 d16y8 coupe , .63 ar rev9 turbo kit . Just bought a Hondata s300v3 on a p28 ecu. ( super excited to lock in a tune with my tuner). I plug in the ecu with the case open on the p28 to check to see if it turns on. The Hondata will not show any green lights until plugged into my laptop. Once plugged in there’s a green light , then also I think it’s d2 could be wrong , but flashing red , computer on the Hondata application, shows ( driver installed) ( online) but I can’t upload anything or calibrations. Also when the car is on the on switch , the pump does not turn on either. I’m not sure if there’s a ground out somewhere, I have no clue why it’s flashing red red on the Hondata either, I can’t even datalog if I wanted to. Also confused to as why the Hondata ecu only flashes and turns on when it’s plugged into the computer like it’s getting no power or rejecting it. And yes my stock ecu the car fires right up. So I’m not sure what’s wrong, can’t find a thread anywhere or videos. I’m new to this so I’m dying for help!!!!!

Have the capacitors been replaced in this ECU?

It’s a brand new p28 and s300 I’ll see if I have a picture !

The ECU is at least 31 years old, so the capacitors should be replaced, and they do not appear to have been replaced.

How can I check the capacitors ?

It looks like you may have the wrong adapter harness as there are no wires where one of the plugs is plugged into.

I’ll check cause I’ve seen a video where that extra slot is for auto trans connector I could be wrong
