*edit after submitting ( i am terribly sorry if this was posted or brought up before i’m desperate for answers or hoping to wake up to something tmr before i go in to work or now to save me *

so i came across “what base map should i use?”
and “hybrid racing CAI tune” in subjects here , im seeing a bunch
of knowledgeable people that know about fa5/8th gens , i feel as if i’m in a pickle…
i have PLM headers (v1) & Invidia q300
just got flash pro and uploaded stock tune .. rev limiter higher and v tec lower all that jazz , my knock is CRAZY 43 in cyl.2 and cyl.3 had 10 , a 21 mile drive , first tune i’ve done to this car and safe to say im worried. I know most people ask if this a permanent set up … as far as exhaust i think yes. My header ? not so much i’ll most likely change that down the road not in my bucket list rn.
Hybrid racing intake - comes in a week but i feel as if i need something for my H/E.
I’ll post a datalog tmr im still trying to learn all of this / working it , im in serious need of a tuner. and light shed on this would be GREAT i don’t feel like losing sleep over this.

Welcome to the forum,

Any of the basemaps you find will need some adjustments. Post the calibration file you are running and a datalog. I can take a look at it to make sure you are running safe.

The car is running a bit lean so I adjusted the MAF curve. I reduced the timing in areas where knock was present.

Load the revised file and create a normal drive log.

i uploaded the tune to my car and i tried datalogging for when i went to pick up lunch but got back and it was not saved.. the car is running better though with the revised version on my less than 10 min drive i got only 6 knocks on cyl.2 way better than what it would've read same distance on hondata map. Im pretty happy with it only thing i notice is a little more boggy-ness , i wanna say its the more touchy acceleration. i will post my datalog for on my way home on highway unless i should do otherwise.

Ed, do you have a instagram , facebook or website for me to get tuned by you specifically? i do not know any tuners local to me (montgomery county) md

The revision is mainly to get the car running safely. I will take a look at the log when you post it. I do not have an Instagram, Facebook or website. I plan to make a website at some point. My contact information should be in the calibration file if you want to reach out.

I reduced the timing a bit more to help with the knock. Fuel is ok.

I adjusted the timing a bit. knock is down to 10 counts. I removed the rev hang. Create another log.

It shows knock is present but it did not catch when it occurred. Log the car as soon as your drive off to make sure you record when the knock is happening. Besides that fueling is good to go.
