KPRO v4 S/N: 61276 - No Longer Working (Red blinking light)

Post by RoadsterAlex »

Hello, My kPro Stopped working.

I have sent it to the dealer who have told me I need to buy a new ECU and New KPRO as they tried:

- My KPro in a different ECU.. they said car would not start even though mine did; but since the map cannot be changed could be their injectors etc
- Another KPRO in my ECU, Said it didn't work either.
- I tried Uploading, Downloading, Reset KPRO without success
- When I check the Hondata software I have the latest one (4.5.6.0) and no data (gauges) showing up and data logging is flat as there is no data
- I'm Located in the UK, I guess I need to ship this to the US or is there an Official EU/UK Repair Centre?

As a note, the ecu worked fine, went to dyno and few days later it stopped

This was sold as an install kit to Type Two. They will have to handle any replacement or installation into a different ECU. You need to determine what in your vehicle caused the damage and correct it so that you do not damage another ECU or K-Pro.

Hi,

They said:

My Kpro doesn’t work in another Ecu
Another Kpro doesn’t work in my Ecu

They also said that pins looked “damp” but that can’t be a reason my Kpro totally stopped working if I’m correct?

Other than that they don’t know what could be wrong.

If both the ECU and K-Pro were damaged, then there is a significant wiring problem either with grounds or somewhere else.

Is this still a replacement or do I need to buy everything new?

You would have to supply a working ECU and pay for the installation charges and replacement cost for the K-Pro. The dealer will have to handle this for you.
