No power after flash

Post by Jmeyering »

So I have a 2021 fk8 and have been using FlashPro for the last year to upload tunes with no issues so far.

Yesterday I was flashing to a tune that I have previously used with no issues and unexpectedly the upload happened to fail. So the car wouldn't start. However I was able to get back to the Accessory power state and re-try the flash. This time the upload worked correctly and I was able to start my car.

I thought nothing much of it. I ran the car quick around the block and came home. This morning the car has no power whatsoever. I can't even get to accessory mode, nothing comes on at all.

I checked the main fuses under the hood and I noticed that the "Back Up" fuse is blown. whenever I put a new fuse in it blows immediatly so this is obviously somehow related.

I do have the sirimoto flexfuel kit installed however that has been installed for quite some time. I tried removing the sensor from the EC2 port and the fuse continues to blow.

Is it possible that the blown fuse is related to the bad upload? Is it possible the ECU is fried in some way? Or could it be some coincidental timing and this is a completely separate issue?

I do not think that the failed upload has anything to do with causing the fuse to blow. It sounds like there is a short somewhere in the wiring of the vehicle.
