SManager Version: 2.8.3.0 Build 3288
S300 V3 Whiteboard: 54860
1999 Integra GSR
P06 ECU
Fully built turbocharged B18C1
This car belongs to a close friend of mine and it has been at multiple performance shops over the last 5+ years being built and tuned. This is my first experience with any kind of tuning software, so I apologize if I'm overlooking something simple.
This build has roughly 500 miles on it according to the owner, the S300 is also new. There are multiple other issues with this car that I have found that still need addressed despite it being built by reputable shops. I recently got involved and installed a custom ram horn turbo/exhaust manifold. The car had been sitting for months, but after the install it started right up with a fresh battery, idled smooth and drove amazing.
The following is second hand information, I was not driving: The car was driven multiple times afterward without issue over the next week and after hitting a bump in the road the car went into limp mode, only revving to 3,000rpm. I am not certain on the specifics of the check engine light, but I believe it may have come on briefly during this drive and went off after going into limp mode, not sure from the details I was given. This is the current state it's in, along with a few other issues so I had him tow it to me so I could look at it closer.
The check engine light is not on, and does light up and go off during bulb check.
Using the owners laptop, I initially could not get SManager to run, it would open and spam application error messages. I downloaded and installed the most recent version and checked the drivers, it seems to be working now but all the datalog features are grayed out and I get no live sensor data. My goal was to try and read any kind of DTC's or sensor data causing the limp mode. I did note that while the engine was idling, plugging in the usb cord from the ECU to the laptop with SManager open makes the engine stumble temporarily, so I feel that's a sign that it is recognizing a connection at the least. I have a blinking red light at the ECU usb connection.
After reading through some other posts, I decided to pull the ECU, inspect and take pictures of the board as I am not sure what I am looking at. I am hoping for some advice on if I should take this ECU to someone else and have it inspected or if there are any other tests/procedures I can try first. Thank you for your time!

Re: S300 V3 - No signal from PCM to SManager
The capacitor for VTEC operation appears to be damaged as well as the resistors at R58 and R59 appear to be burned. This indicates something has been wired incorrectly and the ECU may not function correctly. It may be best to replace the ECU.
When you are trying to datalog, what are you clicking to start it datalogging in the software?

Thank you for your input, we are looking at presenting this information to the shop that socketed the ECU.Spunkster wrote: Mon Sep 18, 2023 9:14 am The capacitor for VTEC operation appears to be damaged as well as the resistors at R58 and R59 appear to be burned. At first I assumed just clicking the sensors tab would bring up live data, but I did some searching and found a YouTube video showing to click the lightning bolt icon to read the data and then the record button to capture. But, almost everything is grayed out.

Most likely the ECU will need to be replaced.
