Another P0010 thread VTC not working

Post by Scobaru »

I'm working on my friend's K24 swapped RX8 and the harness was grounded incorrectly which I heard was pretty common. That fixed and 02 issue the car had but now P0010 code pops up. I tested continuity from the VTC solenoid to the ecu wire harness locations and they tested good. The ground wire from the VTC does go into the ECU harness, not to straight chassis ground. on the Kpro Cam and CAMCMD are both reading 0 no matter if I rev it or idle those numbers don't change. It doesn't appear on the Kpro that VTC is locked. I tried to jump the VTC solenoid harness to see if it would pop a low circuit code and it just still had the P0010 code. I made a post on another K series page some people think it's the board? is there a way I can test the ecu or other things I should look into?

What is the serial number on the K-Pro board inside the ECU?

What engine harness is being used?

Have you tried the ECU on a known working vehicle?

it's a wire harness kit, not sure from whom.

I don't really have access to another ECU to try to test it out.

I believe the serial number is 15047

You do not need another ECU. You need to test your ECU in a known working vehicle.
