Hondata

I've recently installed a k24 into my ep3. K24a2/k20z4 head, rbc intake, stock ep3 tb, type s oil pump, 3 inch k&n air filter, stock harness. My engine used to rev up to 4k and plus at start up. Accidentally swapped map and tps sensor connectors thinking that might of been issue and then black smoke started coming out. Swapped the connectors back and now engine is surging and more black smoke comes out. Need advice, thank you.

Do the sensors read correctly when you datalog?

What sensor readings should I be looking at?

MAP and TPS

I've checked and both of the sensor read correctly.

Now my engine doesn't want to turn on with the Hondata ecu but will turn on with stock ecu 😅

Do you have the immobilizer enabled or disabled in the calibration?

Disabled in the calibration

Is it cranking and the engine turning over or is it not cranking?

The engine is cranking good but no start

Have you checked for fuel and spark?

I have not checked that but I put the old ep3 Ecu that doesnt have hondata on it and the engine starts right up

Post your calibration and a datalog showing when trying to start it.

I recently got a new map sensor put it on and my car is running better but now surges at idle from 1k to 2k rpms.
