2011 CR-Z HKS GT2 + injectors basemap
2011 CR-Z HKS GT2 + injectors basemap
Hello,
I have the following on order for my 2011 CR-Z 6MT Base model which should arrive next month. I am looking for a basemap to get the car started and be able to drive to dyno for tuning. I see there is currently a calibration listed as "US HKS S/C GTS 4015 HP, HKS M40i spark plug, 38 mm Restrictor, DW450 inj.91 octane" I am wondering if this would get me running with some minor adjustments? I have no experience with tuning so I really don't know what adjustments would be needed. Please let me know if you need any other info. Thanks for any help you can give. Hondata just arrived

Welcome to the forum Francejf,
Have you reached out to your tuner to see if they can provide you a basemap to get you to the shop?
Regarding the basemap, you are on the right track. If its the map with the closes mods to you, its a good start. Load the file and create a normal driving log. I can look over the datalog.

Thank you CalibratEd.
I will definitely send you the datalog once i have everything installed and running.
I have not talked to the tuner yet but i will ask them and see if they have anything.

Hi Ed,
So it took a little longer than expected for the kit to arrive, there were some production delays. Anyways i just finished installing last night and this morning i loaded the tune mentioned in the previous message. The car cranks and idles fine, getting ready to take it on the road to see how it drives. Can you tell me how long of a data file you need in Normal driving mode? Wait for engine to get to temp or start cold? Thanks in advance
Re: 2011 CR-Z HKS GT2 + injectors basemap
Hi Ed, I went for a short drive and captured the attached. The first few minutes is idling and low speed while i get out of the garage and neighborhood, then i only went a couple of miles or so down to the roundabout and back. if you need a longer file or different driving conditions, please let me know. The engine seems to run fine and should get me to the dyno which is about 35 miles away.

I looked over the log and it seems the car is running lean. I would adjust the fuel before heading to the dyno.

Did you need help with the adjustments or did you make it to the Dyno with no issue?

Yes I was going to ask you if you could help me. how do you determine the fuel is lean? is that by looking at the Lambda overlay? Do you just use the suggested changes? I have watched a couple of videos on this and they say you want you want your lines to be parallel ant crossing or too spikey. Seems like if you adjust the Lambda then you have dips or spikes so you would have to adjust everything else to get it back straight? i may be overthinking things a little, i would hate to screw something up by changing the wrong values. Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated.

Yes use the lambda overlay. For now I would make broad large changes to richen the fuel and bring the trims down. Once the fuel is dialed in a little you can fine tune it per smaller areas or cells.

OK I will try that. But first off, I did not have the correct injector information on my basemap, it was set for the 450cc injectors that the map was written for. I contacted DW and they sent me the tuning file for my injectors. I have made those changes and am going to go for a short drive to collect some data and see what changes. I will send you the log for review. these are the numbers I was using and i attached what DW sent me.
450CC numbers in software basemap:
Voltage 6 10 12 14 16
Time 3426 1624 1286 890 638

Sounds good. I probably should have asked you that from the start.Francejf wrote: Wed Jan 17, 2024 4:50 pm OK I will try that. Here is a short drive up to the store. I started logging when I first started the car so it was cold in the beginning.

I made some fuel adjustments. Load the calibration and create a similar log. I probably should have asked before I made changes but what MAP sensor are you running.
