hondata s300 datalogs.

Post by wickster99 »

im fairly new so forgive me if ii post this in the wrong general area. ive recently been working on a jdm b16A swap into a 99 civic ex. short of the outcome wanted after hundreds of dollars into replacing things i simpky cannot figure out why this things keeps lagging and bogging randomly at low and even high rpm. ive replaced just about every component on the engine aside internals. i datalogged my last spin with it doing what i have stated with it in hopes that someone could tell me wth is going on with this car.

Has it been properly tuned on the dyno?

i have not got it tuned on a dyno, as for the previous owner he stated that it had been dynoed several months before selling it. it ran fine for weeks until one day it bagan to act up i began research and began replacing parts i suspected were the culprits. still nothing.

it bogs and lags as you apply more than 25% throttle, if you ease off the bog and lag seems to not be noticeable sometimes even going completely away. i wonder if the ecu or wiring somewhere could be defective

You have 2 errors according to the datalog and you need to troubleshoot those errors first.

yes the errors i believe were the tps sensor and the knock sensor. i have replaced 2 so far one being an ebay tps and the one on it now is a BLOX calibrated to spec. it still throws this code.

corrected the issue, gave a thorough clean to the solenoid and tps. threw the tps error again. this cannot be due to the mechanical part as it is brand new. this is beginning to seem like an electrical problem/

Try the ECU on a known working vehicle.

What is the condition of the harness plug for the TPS? Is it fully intact, with the locking clip?

Any chopped wiring anywhere in the engine bay?

Check the condition of all your grounds (battery, frame rail, transmission, thermostat housing, valve cover) and make sure they are all clean shiny metal on both sides of each connection, and that they are securely fastened. Also, make sure your thermostat housing halves don't have any corrosion between them, and that the entire housing is securely bolted to the block.

harness plug looks good it is intact with the locking clip. as far as i can see the wiring in the bay is ok.
