D2 Flashing Red

Post by VtecGarage »

Okay so when I plug the hondata S300 into my computer I have a solid green light on D4. D3 lights up for a second then goes away and D2 starts flashing red. My upload to ecu button is greyed out. I cannot make any changes to the ecu. I cannot live datalog either. I do have the J1 jumped and J12 cut. This is installed in a P72 ecu. The Hondata S300 serial is 47445. I did get this ecu with the car. Previous owner said that he was unable to ever get the car to run with this ecu. I did not install this in myself. What can i look for? Im really wanting to fix this instead of buying another S300. I have the lastest version and my drivers are up to date. Ive even uninstalled everything and reinstalled Smanager and drivers. I can get the car to start but it runs terrible. Any ideas before I have to end up buying another?

Also with my laptop on plugged in and car off I cannot pull the S300 information either. When I take the ecu out of the car and plug it into My desktop PC it says online but cannot make changes. But I can see my S300 information with it plugged into my desktop

What is the full part number on the ECU?

From Help, About, what is the version of software you are using?

Have the capacitors been replaced in the ECU?

Software version 2.8.1.0 The ecu part # is 37820-P30-A00. Sorry I was told P72. This ecu does have a Knock sensor board in it. I am not sure about the capacitors being replaced since I received this with and car I purchased last year. They appear to be original to me but I'm not sure

Spunkster the capacitors appear to be original. Original solder is still on them. All the capacitors are Brown in color

I would recommend replacing them as they are well past their life expectancy: https://www.hondata.com/products/access ... acitor-kit
