Camshaft overlap & Disable EGTs

I have a stock '21 CTR and I would like to enable both Camshaft overlap & Disable EGTs. The car is my daily driver and does track duty for about 20min sessions on track days. Is it safe to run both Camshaft overlap & Disable EGTs full time with a stock setup given my configuration? I read somewhere in this forum the Disable EGTs is more effective for big turbos and Camshaft overlap may run the risk of burning my stock catalytic converter?

This could cause damage to the catalyst as it will get much hotter.

Installing a aftermarket high flow or ... converter is the solution to run camshaft overlap safely?

It could damage any catalyst in place.
