Problem with S300, ¿ erase?

Hello, we have a customer´s MOJO kit car with a B16 engine inside. The car came with an ecu already chipped, working fine, but needed a custom tune to adjust fuelling and vtec.
We installed a S300 module and we tuned everything. Once finished on the dyno we went to pass the MOT service. On our way to the MOT service we noticed that the car was hitting rpm limiter at 4000 rpm and the mixture was extremely rich. After checking everything, we found that this issue also happened with the S300 module remove from the board, so we could check that the S300 module was only workinkg with the PC connected, once you remove the PC and turn ignition off, the board is not recognize.

We order another board thinking that the s300 board was damaged, but once we installed, we have the same issue.
On the other hand, if i put back the eprom the ecu came with, the ecu works fine....

so i assume that there is another problem related. Has anyone suffered from this before?

thanks!

What version S300 is this? Please post a photo of the S300 and ECU.

Is J12 cut on the ECU?

Have you tried this ECU in a known working vehicle? It sounds like there could be a wiring issue.

Can you send pictures showing the soldering on the bottom of the ECU for the s300 and also the pins on the top of the ECU for s300.

Hi, the car was chipped in the past. With the tuned eprom the car goes fine. If you removed the eprom, the car hits a rpm limiter at 4000 rpm and idles extremely bad. Before trying hondata, we tried different tuned files and one you install a new tuned eprom different from the original one, the car goes bad as explain above, we couldn´t even tune it with an eprom simulator on winols, there was no comm´s.

That´s why we tried Hondata. We installed, tuned it and everything seemed to be fine, the result was amazing and the control was accurate, but.... once you removed the usb connection, the ecu acts as if there werent connection between the ecu and the hondata module.

The next step, unless any expertise from your side can help us, would be testing this ecu and module in another car-chassis to know if the ecu, wiring or borh are faulty.

thanks!

Those are not the correct pins for use with the s300, and they are too short.

And does it has any difference in the connection if the car runs perfect with the USB and the pc running?

That indicates it is grounding through the USB and there is a problem with the wiring or socketing. You should not run it this way as it will damage the s300 if it grounds through the USB.

ok, i will test the ecu and the S300 in another car to check which is the problem itself. I found the problem with the original hondata socket, i removed it and install a dill socket to test the original eprom and put back the socket to fit the S300 again. So checking the ecu in another car will definetly help us.

Thanks!
