You don't need to erase the ECU. Just open a calibration and upload it.

And if it doesn't allow me to open a new calibration?

From Help, About, what is the version of software you are using?
What is the serial number on the s300 inside the ECU?

Ecu uploads fail almost immediately. Is it my socketing? Could it be from not installing the resistor in r54? I have a p72 ecu and i wasnt sure it the r54 needed to be soldered in or not. I also completely removed j12 from the board instead of cutting it. Does that make a difference?

Post a picture of the soldering on the bottom of the ECU.

Thank you all for your effort in troubleshooting this guys, it was just my bad soldering (first timer) i went back and redid some the suspect ones and now it works perfectly
