K20a-ITR map doesn't go into closed loop ever

Post by futureal33 »

Hello all,

I have recently had a Kpro V4 installed in my car, and have been searching these forums for advice on how to get started with it all.
I have seen quite a few mentions of the above map K20a-ITR which is the only suitable basemap for my car and also have downloaded quite a few logs from users of this map.

However, my concern is that the entire logs are all in Open Loop. There is no closed loop anywhere in the map.

I understand that tuning should be done in Open Loop to get the fuel tables populated correctly, but my worry is that if the map fuel tables are wildly wrong for my car, wont it run like crap as the ECU wont be doing any corrections based on AFR.

Looking at the map parameters, I cannot understand why the logs appear to have no closed loop - the map seems to be setup that it should run in closed loop under 87 KPA and then enter open loop from 87+ KPA which is how I would want it.. but if you look at of the log files below from this map, you can see the car is always in fuel status 4 - Open Loop, the entire time

Can anyone assist or explain this to me?
Thanks

What vehicle do you have and what sensor are you using?

Fuel system status = 4, which is open loop due to injector cut or engine load.

The ITR calibration is not the right one to use as it has a lot of Toda parts on it. Upload the k20a2-stock-tuned calibration and see if you get closed loop operation.

Can I query why to use this map, when it seems not the right one for my car?

The JDM DC5 is a K20a1 engine, so surely the K20a-ITR map is the right map for it?

Can I ask why the K20a2 map would be suitable when it is a different engine?
Thanks

The k20a2 calibration is going to be closed to your engine than the calibration with Toda header and camshafts.
