I recently ran into a torque converter issue on my 2014 Honda Accord. I was informed about a software update that can be done to help alleviate the issue. (The software update cools the transmission fluid sooner therefore preventing torque converter shutter) The software update must be done by Honda. My question is if I flash a tune to my car, will it erase the software update? I am worried that if I don’t get the software update I will keep experiencing the shutter but I want to continue to have my car tuned.

Sounds like a transmission controller update not an ECU update. If you know the TSB number post it and it should say what the software update is.

The bulletin is 17-017
It looks like the update is in the PCM. If you could double check that would be great. Is that completely separate from the ecu?

I think if you have reflashed with FlashPro you already have the software update from Honda. Look at your calibration ID (FlashPro window) and compare with the table in the TSB which lists the software PNs.

The calibration ID is 37805-5G0-A330 which doesn’t match with any on the bulletin list. I couldn’t find much on what this specific ID meant though. I think the updated one should be 37805-5G0-A360.

We'll have to update our software to use the A360 file. This will take some time.

Ah ok I will probably go ahead and get it from the dealer in the meantime. So I'm guessing the tune will overwrite the software that I get?
