Hondata

I have tried this two different ways:

1st: downloaded Hondata app on Pixel3 (running android 12). Connected to phone. App continually "blinks" and does not connect to Flashpro.
2nd: download Hondata app on EONON head unit (running android 11). Connected to headunit. App continually "blinks" and does not connect to Flashpro.

Constants:
Flashpro: Bluetooth settings are "enabled" and "tuning enabled". I set a custom code and renamed the device. I did attempt the APK code load setting (properly disconnecting USB between configurations) - even though I know this is for the Microsoft OS stack- as a last ditch effort... reverted back to former configuration.

Attempts:
On both android devices I deleted app and reinstalled. On flashpro I have tried changing the name of device- and configuring to only "enabled bluetooth" and not "tuning enabled" as well as the APK- Micro OS stack load (I know stupid but it was a "hail mary"). I have tried on the app the 3.0 version (assuming this is BT hardware level though one device runs 3.0 and other 5.0) as well as manual- etc. To no avail.

I am at a loss. Will someone please help me? This should be pretty straightforward- I feel like there is something right in front of me I am missing.

**Update** I looked and both devices run bluetooth 5.0- which looks like it is completely backwards compatible.

Still cannot get these device to communicate with each other.

What app are you using? What is the version number?

v1.5.8....same as in the description. This is under app info- if you are looking for something else please let me know.

I just saw there was an update in play store. I updated- now the application will NOT open. I uninstalled and reinstalled- it crashes whenever I open it. Seems the update is making the app crash- please help. ***This version is 1.5.9***

Let me clarify. What app are you using? The paid datalogging app for a phone or the free app for the Civic headunit?

I am using the paid "Hondata" app - for both.

It is not a stock civic head unit. It is an aftermarket Android unit- essentially a phone/tablet- which is Android architecture.

Aftermarket head units may not be compatible and may not work with the app.

Playstore states compatibility with all devices.

After downloading the update (1.5.9) now the application is unstable on a phone.

The bluetooth for the FlashPro works (my phone and the headunit recognize it- the address match what the software states is the BT address).

Uninstalled (phone and headunit) app (paid Hondata)- it is back to "scanning BT LE devices..." on the app but not connected.

I am not quite sure what is happening here- seemingly both devices connect to the flashpro. Both devices are android. Both devices - by your literature, Google playstore verification, and common sense dictate easy connection and usage.

However the app does not work.

Hello- do you have any updates? This still does not work. Do you have anyone with similar issues in the past... now... what did you do...doing to assist?

on the phone with the paid app, you must pair the Bluetooth in the phone settings before trying to connect using the app.

On the phone the device comes up - I put in my code for it- allow the access.

Both devices recognize the Flashpro's BT. When I open the app- the app does not recognize it (that there is BT to connect to).

Is there a security setting? is there an older (more stable) app?

Did you test this on android 12?

I appreciate your help.

So far I have successfully connected to phone (pixel3 android 12) by:

1. uninstall paid Hondata app- reinstall app
2. add flashpro to phone bluetooth
3. in app set "bluetooth interface" to 3.0 and "connect method" to 1
4. hit "program" and then "datalogging" on flashpro
5. in app go back and forth between settings and main screen

this works - it is repeatable as well. outside of this i could not connect.

Spoke too soon. Though connected on phone/bluetooth I receive no readings!
