07 FA5 Tune for Hybrid Racing Intake/Skunk2 Header/Yonaka Exhaust

Post by hammettb »

Hi there, I am looking to tune my 07 Civic Si. I will be installing a Hybrid Racing Intake,Skunk2 Alpha header and I already have a 2.5" Yonaka catback. I also will have the P2R throttle spacer. I have looked through the starting calibrations and nothing is close. Also looked up in the Vault and it does not allow me to download it. Keeps coming up with an error. Any help with tuning would be appreciated. Thank You

I can help you with it if you'd like. When are you planning on installing the HR intake? You will need a speed density calibration before you even start the car with that intake, so be sure to get something in there before that. Seems like you already know that, just saying, you will get codes and it will run very rough on the stock tune.

The vault is down due to covid restrictions and the Hondata guys working remotely I believe. They are focused on other aspects of the business right now.

Anyways, I can help you with it if you want. Just give me a time frame installing the HR intake so we can make a plan.

OK great! I am planning on installing the intake this weekend as well as the skunk2 header and p2r spacer. The catback is already on the car. Please let me know where we can start and I look forward on hearing from you!

So I've got the basemap for you to get started with. I generally like to tune all your cars one cam angle at a time, but I am going to be very busy for the next two weeks, so I am going to start you on a completed file to get you going and dial it over a couple datalogs. Once I get more time, we may go back and revisit some things. but this will get you to a point where you can have fun safely over a couple revisions, then we can fine tune some things when I have more time.

So keep me in the loop for this weekend, let me know the night before the install. Once you get ready to take it for a drive, we need the datalogs to be in the 20-30 minute range with as much stop and go driving as possible. On the drive, do one wide open throttle (WOT) pull from 2500-8600 rpms so we can see the WOT fuel. On this first datalog, don't get too aggressive with the driving, just calm and normal driving with the one WOT pull in third. Once I get some data back, you can have a lot more fun in the second revision. For this first one though, we need some baseline data so I can clean up any big chunks before you get after it. It will be plenty close, so nothing to worry about, we just want to be responsible on this first drive and get some good data is all.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Excellent! I plan to install the intake/header and tb spacer this Saturday. I will upload this tune prior to starting and go through the revisions with you. Appreciate the tuning!

Sounds good, make a post on here before you drive it so I will get the notification you're getting ready to to take it out. That way I can look for the first datalog to make adjustments quickly for you. Once I get some data from that first datalog, you'll be able to have a lot more fun on the second revision. That intake is going to make quite a difference in performance and sound.
