Asking for a password I never set

I was helping a buddy of mine tune his civic that is running a hondata s300. We spent many weekends on and off tuning here and there with no issues whatsoever. Last week we were out tuning while cruising on the highway, I uploaded to the ecu after changing the EV table, drove some more and now when I try to upload it is asking me for a password.
I never setup a password and nor was it asking for one before.
to make the matter worse... he got that s300 for a friend 3 or 4 years back and never changed the registration. The password reset doesn't fix my issue as it is registered under someone's else Email.

My questions are:
1- How can a password be set without me setting it, can the previous owner do that remotely?
2- How would I fix this issue as the previous owner is not responding to emails?

Please help me help him.

What is the serial number on the s300 board inside the ECU?

I only see a silver sticker with s300 and 21030 under it. Not sure if that is the S/N.
I attached the photo also

One thing worth saying is that I upgraded the version of the S300 software on my computer the day before this happened. Not sure how that is related.

With everything plugged in and the ignition in the on position, go to the Help menu and click on “send feedback”. Include a detailed description of the issue.

Tossed it in the trash and bought Mega squirt. I spent such a long time trying to get it resolved and no help from hondata at all.
In general Hondata seem to be a very old code and very poorly written. I feel bad for anyone dealing with this old software and hardware.

From Help, About, what is the version of software you are using?

Why do they ask so much about the serial number of the board, if in the end they are not going to solve anything, they only know how to send a form so that they can send the slingshot to you and you have to pay them for mistakes that you make yourself.
