A lot of it would depend on the design of the off brand CAI. Do you have any photos or more of description, such as where is the filter located, diameter of the intake pipe, etc?

The cai is located front driver side like basically in front of the wheel. The diameter of the pipe is 3 inches , Thanks !

Gotcha. With the bigger diameter tube, the MAF sensor will probably have a skewed reading which will make it difficult to MAF tune. Therefore, you would want most likely want to make it speed density tuned using the MAP sensor to get it dialed. If you want to try a basemap, I would probably say the "Injen CAI" calibration would be your closest match that might yield decent results, though it would need some adjustments to take full advantage of your setup.

Are you planning to run this setup for a long time, or are you planning on adding a race header or other performance mods soon? I can help you tune it if you want, we can start you on one of my files and go from there. But let me know if you have more mods planned soon or not, then we can discuss which route to go for tuning it.

Gotcha. Then I would recommend getting the tune dialed using a completed file and making the necessary adjustments for your car. Then when you add the header, do a complete custom tune on it so you can get the most out of it. The proper tuning route is time consuming, so to do it now and then again when you add the header means a lot of time on your end making datalogs and making pulls on the street.

So let me know if you want to use the Hondata basemap, or my stuff, and the we can go from there. Everything I tune is for street driving, I don’t tune them with a race car mindset, so you don’t have to worry about that. Using my stuff you’re probably looking at 3-5 revisions to get it dialed, using the Hondata basemap I couldn’t say how many because I don’t know how close it would be or not from the start.

I would prefer your stuff then if it’s easier and better to work with.

Sounds good. The datalog process is the most important part for all of this. We need them to be in the 20-30 minute range with as much stop and go type city driving as possible. Basically avoid long periods of time at a steady speed. On the drive, we need one wide open throttle (WOT) pull in third gear from 2500-8600 so we can see the WOT fueling. So 20-30 minutes in length, stop and go type driving, one WOT pull in third gear from 2500-8600.

That works. Try to get a datalog soon after you upload so we can clean up anything that needs to be addressed quickly. It should be pretty good from the start based on your mods, but I still like to see a datalog soon after the first upload so we know it's good.

Not sure on how quick the replies show up. You can subscribe to the thread and you will get emails when replies post.

Looked really good for a start. I made a some fueling adjustments and a small ignition change for the one knock that showed up. Other than that it looks good. Give this next one a drive when you can and we will see how it looks.

One thing, on your WOT pull, you didn't go 100% throttle until 5000rpm. Try to go 100% as close to 2500 as you can so we can get the most WOT data as possible. Not the end of the world, just saying.
