Fuel pump doesn’t run or prime.

Post by Plshelpmepls »

-2002 Acura RSX type S

Kpro v4 serial: 53734

Ecu on: 37820-prb-a06 2068-001564

K Manger software: most recent downloaded yesterday.

Bought uses from eBay, don’t know the history of this ecu.

Hey guys so I’m having this issue where the ecu isn’t running the fuel pump. The car is basically all stock, harness is untouched, car was running and still runs with the original ecu. I’ve uploaded and tried a couple stock k20a2 calibrations with immobilizer disabled and even unplugged the immobilizer itself. My issue is the fuel pump isn’t running unless I ground E1. Is my ecu bad?

It sounds like the ECU is damaged. I would recommend trying to get your money back form the seller or through ebay.

Would it be an issue if I were to run the ecu with e1 grounded to the chassis? Thanks for your help

E1 in the harness or E1 from the ECU? If you ground E1 from the ECU then you're creating a ground loop that may cause other problems.

You can try to use the ECU but sometimes the damage from someone incorrectly wiring the main relay or fuel pump relay can affect other ECU outputs. For example, weak injector outputs that mostly work but have low current.

I guess both, I made a ground strap an tapped E1/ (grn/yel) and bolted the strap to the chassis, is there any way I can test the outputs to make Ute everything’s working correctly? I drove the car around for a couple hours after the fact and all seems to be working fine if anything, will it be possible for me to send in the damaged ecu and another used PRB and have you guys swap the daughter board over in the near future?

If you have to jumper or ground something for it to run, then in the case of an accident it will continue to run and could be a fire hazard as it will continue to pump fuel and not shutoff as intended. I would recommend that you try to return this or you will have to replace the ECU.
