Basemap?
Basemap?
Fairly new to tuning and Hondata, I was wondering what basemap I could use with an unknown SRI and a test pipe? Ive stuck with the stock tune but I was wondering if I should be running that?
- I won’t be able to upload a data log until tomorrow but if anyone with a similar setup has any info let me know!

Re: Basemap?
Are you planning on running this setup for a while, or do you have plans to add modifications in the near future?
Re: Basemap?
Yeah I’ve got a Q300 cat back sitting at home i haven’t installed yet, just been a lot busier than I had planned.EFICU wrote: Mon May 31, 2021 10:18 am Are you planning on running this setup for a while, or do you have plans to add modifications in the near future?
Re: Basemap?
Sounds good. If you plan to put it on soon, we can wait til you get it on and then we can do a complete custom tune for you. I like to do it the proper way where we tune each cam angle individually, then blend everything out. Usually takes about 10-12 revisions to get it dialed. Since it's so time consuming for you, I try to recommend people get all their mods on at once to remove the need to tune it more than once. If you're not going to put the exhaust on soon, we can put you on a complete file and make simple adjustments to get it right while you wait to put the exhaust on. Totally up to you, just let me know your plans for the exhaust install and we can discuss further.Dinder wrote: Mon Jun 07, 2021 6:14 pm Yeah I’ve got a Q300 cat back sitting at home i haven’t installed yet, just been a lot busier than I had planned.

Re: Basemap?
Sounds good. Just give me a heads up then when you're going to put it on and we'll go over the next steps.
Re: Basemap?

Re: Basemap?
Sounds good. Do you have time to tune it the proper way where we tune each cam angle and then blend everything, usually takes about 10-12 revisions. Or would you prefer to do it quicker where we take a completed file and make the necessary changes for your car, usually 5-7 revisions. The datalogs need to be 20 minutes in length, so I just want to make sure we do it in a way that is convenient for you and your schedule is all. Let me know, then I will get the first file sent over based on your feedback.
Re: Basemap?
Probably the more proper way, i’ve got a lot of time on my hands this week!EFICU wrote: Wed Jun 16, 2021 7:20 am Sounds good. Re: Basemap?
Okay sounds good, give me just a few minutes and I will get it sent over to you.
So take this one for a drive, 20 minutes in length with stop and go type driving. On your drive, do one wide open throttle (WOT) pull in third gear from 2500-8600 rpms. Let me know if you have any questions.

Re: Basemap?
Heres the 1st! I did one pull to about 8000 in third WOT, and did another one around 8600 when I realized I messed up the first time. Let me know if I need to fix or adjust my drive!!EFICU wrote: Wed Jun 16, 2021 7:54 am Okay sounds good, give me just a few minutes and I will get it sent over to you.

Edit - Realized I was a tad low on oil on this drive if that changes anything, just topped her off now

Re: Basemap?
The driving style looks good. Unfortunately it appears the primary o2 sensor has failed. We will do one more to reinspect, but the WOT fueling is lean and holding a very flat AFR which usually means the o2 sensor has failed. Take this next revision out for a quick drive, all we need is a third gear pull from 2500-7000 so I can see the WOT fueling. If it stays lean, then we need to order a new o2 sensor and get it installed. You don't need to drive this one around for 20 minutes, we just need that third gear WOT pull from 2500-7000 to inspect our issue. Then we'll go from there.

Re: Basemap?
Gotcha, about to start that drive now, if it does happen to be the O2 sensor and I can get a hold of one today, I could probably have it installed within the hour or so.EFICU wrote: Wed Jun 16, 2021 9:12 am The driving style looks good. Re: Basemap?
Perfect. Yeah be sure to get an OEM equivelent or one from the dealer. We want to make sure we're getting one that is high quality so we can rely on the data as being accurate. I'm hoping it's not the sensor, but I am about 90% sure at this moment. We'll see though...
