Turn off purge didn't work

Hi

Im running a Honda k20 in a Lotus Exige.

Lately the evap purge solenoid started making a noice and since it's not hosed up anymore I wanted to remove it. So I hooked up the laptop, found my calibration file, deselected purge and flashed it.

But, pulling the plug on the solenoid will still trigger an error message.

Am I doing something wrong?

Post the calibration as well as a datalog showing the issue.

What is the part number on the ECU you are using this on?

I get a P0443 error code when unplugging the purge solenoid.

EVAP purge control valve circuit is malfunctioning

What vehicle is this being used in?

No one else has reported any problems with this.

This engine was moved to a Lotus. But It's standing on its own. Not hooked up to any Lotus related electronics (It doesn't have any)

Ok, I will try find a solution.

There's a difference between disabling operation of the purge system and disabling the purge system. The software only does the first. I'd keep the purge operational and vent the fuel tank through a charcoal canister to the engine via the purge.

Thank you. Understood. I didn't hear the solenoid on the last drive so guess its disabled now. Too bad I can;t remove it. Will search further how to do that.

Hi again

I found this post viewtopic.php?t=8036 But can't find this anymore in Kmanager.

If I disable the "Enable Sec O2, FTP, PA, ELD" seems to do the trick but I'm unsure if this is safe to do on my vehicle? Am I turning something off I might need? Vehicle is in for the winter so can't drive here at the moment.

Can someone tell me if its ok to do this? Thanks.

It should not cause any problem.

Sorry, I’m super new to the Hondata thing, where did you find that option to turn off?

Hey guy's

Sorry for the late reply. Just got the car out for spring and all is working.

So deselecting "purge" only turns the function off.

Deselecting "Enable Sec O2, FTP, PA, ELD" then did the trick to avoid error codes.

Now the EVAP solenoid is gone.

Thx.
