True flex fuel with s300 ?
True flex fuel with s300 ?
I have a question regarding flex fuel with the s300 software. I recently got my car tuned with the hopes that I can run a true flex fuel tune. Unfortunately I'm having to run two separate maps one for 93 octane and the other e85. I was told that the hondata is not switching over quick enough in the tables to compensate for the change in ethanol content / boost levels if that makes sense. I'm not knowledgeable with tuning at all so don't know if this has some truth to it or just has to be tuned by someone with extensive knowledge with flex fuel not just tuning in general. I tried to do a little digging but nothing solid. I appreciate your time and input. I do have the current s300 version/software with the correct gm sensor, innovate ecb1 gauge and all of my fuel components are e85 compatible. I appreciate your time and input. Only looking for positive feedback, thank you again !
Re: True flex fuel with s300 ?
Yes, Hondata S300v3 will run true flex fuel. My car is set up this way. You will need to dyno tune on gasoline (or E10) first, then begin blending in higher concentrations of ethanol and adjusting the flex fuel compensations accordingly. For my initial tune I had to pay my tuner nearly double because it was essentially two tunes that were blended together. But, it works very well if the calibration is set up correctly.
