I recently installed the K-Pro in my SoS supercharged AP1. Have not had a dyno tune yet, but have been testing general functionality and getting used to the ECU with the base tune (previously had AEM, so this system is new to me).
I had been throwing a code related to VSS malfuntion (P0500 I believe), and just yesterday discovered it occurs when it goes into "overrun" mode for 5 seconds. I have not run any data logging based on this new linkage yet; the overrun condition and timing until the CEL was done based on reading the wideband display. There has been no evidence of erratic speed data, either through the dash or previous data logs where I was trying to identify causality for the code. Driveability with the base tune and settings has otherwise been fine.
I can do a data log for more detail, but more fundamentally, how are these two systems linked? What specifically do I need to be looking at for further diagnosis and resolution.
Overrun Cutoff and VSS Code - AP1
Re: Overrun Cutoff and VSS Code - AP1
Without seeing the calibration and a datalog where the error occurs it's all speculation.
Re: Overrun Cutoff and VSS Code - AP1
Attached is the calibration and log files.
At 3:44 I start playing with throttle to show what does and doesn't kick off the VSS code. Code is kicked off at 4:10 after 5 seconds of overrun fuel cut. Using the brake, even briefly, seems to reset the "timer" for the code.
It appears I'm not getting a VSS signal at the ECU; cluster is fine. If you can confirm the tune is correct, I assume that means a problem with the VSS wiring at the ECU connector.
Aside from the input signal issue, why is a code thrown after 5 seconds of overrun fuel cut, but only in this scenario? Is there a way to turn this "off" somehow until I can get the signal issue figured out?
