Flash pro upload fail

Post by Anthonyfk8 »

Hi,

I got my new 2020 type r jail broken at an authorized dealer here in Toronto NextmodXAPH.

While they were flashing the vehicle three times the flash pro failed to upload giving it an error message: failure information: code 0x7f step 15 address 0x1FFF0.

Any reason this would happen and how do I now successfully upload the flash pro to my ecu?

Thank you!

What was the version of software used to upload?

Do not have the car of flashpro currently as I am at work but I can confirm it is the latest software as I checked it on my own last night as well.

We're like to know the software version and also get the feedback information with the FlashPro plugged into the vehicle.

Sounds good. I will confirm when I am in the vehicle. Thanks for the assistance.

The error code is consistent with using a 2017-2019 jailbreak on a 2020 ECU, but the support information will tell us.

Get the feedback information - it's the jailbreak.

I sent the support information from flashpro manager. Attached is also the versions. I informed APH that it most likely wasn't loading due to the jailbreak. Any support how to jailbreak for them or should I just wait till Hondatas instant jail break is released.

First, you could be waiting forever for an instant jailbreak. Second, the instant jailbreak will not fix a 2017-2019 boot sector in a 2020 ECU.

Okay I understand. What is the best way to approach this situation? Ship the ecu to you guys at Hondata?

Sorry could you clarify what you mean by a 17-19 boot sector in a 2020? Are you saying my ECU cannot be instant jail broken due to APH tried to use the 2017-2019 method?

The ECU can be jailbroken, but it requires a different method than the 2017-2019 ECU. I don't think most tuning shops are aware of this.

None of the 2020 ECUs can be instant jailbroken; this is for other reasons.

Okay, I understand what you mean. I will wait till Hondata offers instant jailbreak for 2020 or could I ship mine to you guys?

And any chance you could confirm my ECU is okay and no damage has been done from trying to jail broken from the shop i brought it too using the information sent to you guys?

I would greatly appreciate it as others in the community have been saying that could potentially give me issues.

If the ECU has been incorrectly jailbroken then we cannot fix it. If the shop that did the jailbreak made a backup then it is fairly easy for them to reset the ECU back to stock.

The 2020 may never get an instant jailbreak; in any case if the ECU has already been jailbroken, then the above applies.
