Q: return ECU back to stock

Post by Whatyoumean »

Hello. I'm pretty new to using hondata flash pro. I have a 07 s2000. Long story short my car got state reffed and they will be checking my ecu and match their data that they have. So I had to take it to Honda first and have them check and make sure that the car is flashed back to stock which it did pass cause they will need proof of invoice/receipt. But they mentioned that my ecu doesn't match what their catalog says or something of that sort. they use a Honda diagnostic test and the ECU shows 37805-pzx-a21. I've did some research on here that having that code shows the car is stock. Basically the Honda guys said that they can't program it for some reason and I should buy a new ECU if I want to pass my state ref. I asked some of my friends who are little more familiar said Honda is trying to play me, which I felt like what was happening haha. My main question is if I take it to state ref and they check it will I be fine. Sorry for the very long post.

Return to stock will return the ECU to a 100% stock state. Calibration ID and CVN are the same as any other vehicle of that year. Honda would be able to reflash it if they want; not sure why they are telling you they can't.

Thank you for the response. Now I feel a little at ease taking my car to state ref.
