KPro v4 in PRB Install Problem

Post by kevito »

Greetings,

I am having a problem getting KPro v4 to work correctly in a PRB ECU. The ECU does not require R250 to be added, as it has the shunt already in place. All headers are installed, as are jumper wires. When powering up with a bench power supply, the ECU powers up and connects via USB to K Manger, but the ECU does not allow me to upload a calibration or to security erase the ECU. I can download calibrations, however.

I have re-registered it to it's owner (I am contracting for their shop), and it didn't seem to make a difference.

I have checked with multimeter all connections from the board to the top of the Hondata receiver pins for connectivity and all test fine. When powered by USB only, the ECU D1 LED flashes red dimly at about 3Hz. When power is connected via a shop supply, D1 continues to flash at 3Hz but there is a bright flash at 1Hz occurring at the same time.

The serial number is K-Pro4 51113. Install photos are attached. Please not that the ECU is not mounted in the case for testing purposes. The ECU does not allow uploading or resetting while installed with full car wiring, either.

Any recommendations would be welcome.

Check the short jumper. We use a much thinner jumper because soldering into the top of a via is difficult. There are blind visas under the top via and it is easy to short them out.

Who did the ECU socketing? Did they test it?

Is r250 where the resistor goes in the kit?

These should be installed by the dealer that purchased it from us. You should not have to install anything yourself.
