Lost my old FP, bought new one, then found it.

Post by AccordFlex »

Hello All,

A few years ago I purchased a Flashpro for my 07 TL. I then got more work done on it and had to get retuned. When it was at the tuner, I seemed to have misplaced the Flashpro unit and after a few days of trying to find it, I could not. I was left with having to purchase a brand new Flashpro in order to retune my TL.

A few weeks later, of course I find my Flashpro. My main question here is, due to me buying a new Flashpro and adding my ECU to it, is there a way for me to go back and plug in the old Flashpro unit and then remove the VIN/ECU? Or is the old one now completely useless? Id like to resell my old one and cant do much with it if its locked to my car. I plan to keep the new Flashpro up and running.

Thanks!

The Hondata guys will chime in on this for you. While I would wait to hear from them, I would think you can do the following:

1. Return the ECU back to stock with the new Flashpro and unlock it, only do this if you have the tune currently in your ECU saved on your laptop. You have the calibration from your tuner on your computer? If so, then...
2. Using your old Flashpro, upload the last tune you had on your old Flashpro to the ECU to make sure it locks and functions correctly.
3. Then return to stock with the old Flashpro to unlock it and double check that it does unlock it from your ECU

If the above steps work:
-Then reupload your newest tune on the new Flashpro and it should lock to the ECU and the old one will be unlocked.

Pretty sure there is hope for you. I would wait for the Hondata guys to chime in, but I'll think you'll be able to do it.

Yes, the procedure online above will work. Return to stock and unlock.
