K20A3 fuel tables question
Hello,
2002 Insight
JDM K20A3
04 Accord Trans w/3.4:1 FD
I've successfully loaded k manager, set up many options relevant to my setup. Car seems to run really good. I have ran a couple of datalogs. The pics are from one of the datalogs.
I’m not tuning for WOT performance. I am looking to make MPG on the road. I understand the purpose of the software and that I’m in the minority here.
My average MPG has been around 40. The STFT (ave 13%) seems a bit high suggesting a lean condition. I measured fuel pressure and it is below the 47 PSI standard for this engine at 34psi. That is a definite problem. There is no surging or lagging on WOT.
Please look at the following 4 screen prints, especially the middle 2:
What this post is about, however, is the 2 middle screen prints. Display Lambda Values and Display Fuel Adjustment Values. Those 2 tables are not being populated by the software. I’ve watched a few Utube videos and seen how those two tables are used to fine-tune the fuel.
So what am I doing wrong? I don’t see how low fuel pressure can cause those tables not to populate.
Can you help me?
Thanks

Re: K20A3 fuel tables question
Go to Options, Settings and then go to the Lambda Overlay tab and make sure that the values there are being met. If it still does not show the values then you may need to restart your computer.

Thanks for the quick reply,
Not sure I understand what you said, and need clarification:
And by "restart" do you mean reset the ECU?
thanks

Are you saying that the values in Options - Settings - Lambda Overlay should be the same values seen in the tables?Go to Options, Settings and then go to the Lambda Overlay tab and make sure that the values there are being met. And by "restart" do you mean reset the ECU?

Re: K20A3 fuel tables question
The settings in options settings need to be met for it to display anything in these tables.
By restart, I mean reboot your laptop.

Re: K20A3 fuel tables question
Thanks for the reply. I found that I needed to click the tab for 20deg cam before I'd see any values.
Didn't see much change in stft after adding 10% to those cells.
But I'm also not seeing leaner than 14.5:1 fuel being commanded. I'm trying to lean this thing out a bit but getting little response.
When I go to Parameters - Closed Loop Advanced - (see pic) the option for Closed Loop Target Lambda - Enable Target Lambda tables is grayed out. Is this why I'm not getting any changes in air/fuel ratio leaner than 14.5?
If so, how do I get that option activated?
Thanks again.

Re: K20A3 fuel tables question
What wideband sensor are you using?

Re: K20A3 fuel tables question
stock rsx base sensor
been reading about what is considered proper voltages for one
you probably noticed the .63 volts it seems to favor.
Right now trying to understand that.

Re: K20A3 fuel tables question
Is this a JDM sensor from the engine?

Re: K20A3 fuel tables question
No, not JDM
I'm curious where you're going with this...
What bugs you about it?
I was concerned about the almost constant +13 STFT, the .63 v,
I did use propane on the intake and immediately the stft went to -18.
what I don't know is fi it's biased.
Havent found anything online about volt-amp output specs.

Re: K20A3 fuel tables question
Making sure as the JDM base model does not use a wideband.
The factory wideband does not read voltage. It instead reads current.
There are 5 different cam angle tables and it will only read form the tables you are currently on. Go to the options menu and make sure that tables follow vtec and tables follow cam angle are both checked.

Re: K20A3 fuel tables question
Thanks for the support.
I did down load a calibration from a similar project for reference - Insight with a k24a2 tuning for MPG - and tried it, and the tables are there. Don't understand why mine are grayed out even though all the parameters and settings are the same.
Yes both those options were/are checked - still no access to those lambda overlay tables.Go to the options menu and make sure that tables follow vtec and tables follow cam angle are both checked.
