2016 Honda Civic EX-T with FlashPro +6psi

Hello,

I recently uploaded the +6PSI (NON-CARB) calibration to my car. I selected "Optimized turbo response", "Disable rev hang", and "Improved response" in the pop-up menu when creating this new calibration.

On the freeway, the car runs amazing and I can hear the turbo spool at below 2000 rpm. However, my biggest issue is when the car accelerates from 0 to 40 mph. After accelerating, the RPMs will go up and then drop, even though the speed is continuously increasing and my pressure on the gas peddle is gradually increasing. The RPMs will eventually recover only when I press significantly harder on the gas.

In the stock calibration, I was able to smoothly accelerate from 0 RPMs to 5500 RPMs without any drop or recover occurring as I gradually increased pressure on the gas peddle.

What is causing this issue withe +6 PSI calibration?

Thank you.

Do you have any datalogs you can post where it does this?

I'll do so tomorrow. I first wanted to see if maybe this was a common issue or not.

Gotcha. Yeah I've only worked on a few of them now and I don't think I have seen the issue you mention. Hopefully someone can chime in, if not we will see what the datalogs look like and maybe help you out.

So here's the attached datalog I ran today. Take a look at the far right side. I accelerate from 0 and the RPMs go up until about 2700 and then dip to 2400 before continuing to increase. While this happens, the speed is continuing to steadily increase.

Any reasons why this is happening? I'm very new to car tuning.

Normal for a CVT.

Is it because it is shifting into 2nd gear?

Are you referring to the 6:20 mark? If so, then yes it appears to be as the CVT "shifts" into second gear the RPM's drop. I don't see anything to worry about. As to why you didn't notice this in stock trim, but notice it now, I couldn't help you clarify. But nothing seems out of the ordinary.

Semi off topic, it looks like the fueling could use some fine tuning. If you wanted to work on that let me know and we can get that dialed in for you.

Thank you Hondata and EFICU!

EFICU, what issue do you see with the fuel data?

The fuel trims can be cleaned up a bit. Simple MAF scaling over a couple of datalogs should get it cleaned up.
