Phantom knock, or not?

Hi all

I'm hoping for some help from the pros on here!

Car: 2002 UKDM CTR, K20A2, Rotrex C30-94, Kpro4.

Car has been supercharged for 3.5 years, no issues.

Recently removed gearbox to fit an LSD, replaced starter, broke the knock sensor. Replaced with a cheap aftermarket one, car instantly started showing knock (has never had this issue before) replaced that with a Ktuned knock sensor, same issue.
The only other thing we changed was a Powerflex gearbox mount insert which has now been removed = no change.
Tuner lives quite a distance away, has adjusted map (see modified kal) to remove timing, still showing knock. He is convinced it's phantom, I can't work out where it' suddenly appeared from.

Any help/advice appreciated. I am losing my marbles chasing this around! Happy to supply anything further needed.

Just to clarify, knock only occurs in higher gears with load on the engine, almost bang on 4500rpm each time. Doesn’t seem to happen on WOT.

I would recommend that you get an OEM knock sensor and see if it works normally. The cheap knock sensor may just be faulty.

Hi Spunkster, thanks for that. I did consider it but I assumed the Ktuned one would be superior even to the OEM one?
