S2000 ID1050X Fine Tuning

Good morning,

I am using the ID1050X Default Values per their website and the car is idling just fine, initially I forgot to change the injector size so it had a rough idle for 2 seconds before I turned it off. Changed the size to 1065cc and plugged in the 43.5psi values from Injector Dynamics and now the idle is just like stock but I have not driven it yet. The car is previously tuned so I expect the whole fuel tables to be good and only want to bring in the injectors until everything is matched up and green, just not sure about the best process to do this the fastest without putting the car in any danger.

Question: What is the recommended process to fine tune the injectors without having to retune the whole fuel table? Should I be adjusting the 14 Volt range till my low cam table seems happy and scale every other voltage up or down accordingly?

Do you mean the injector opening times? Use the values from the ID1000 calibration.

The safest way to do this would be on the dyno so that everything can be monitored and all needed changes can be made.

Aside from the dyno, I don't have a problem street tuning. Was just curious on the methodology of tuning the injectors. I can abort the pull if I see knock.

I meant the ID1000 values from the FlashPro calibration. The ID supplied values are too low and do not work very well.

But I did not realize the ID1050X was a different body. Given the ID1000 and ID1050X are about the same at normal voltage I'd still use the calibration values to start with.

Unfortunately, that's way off base. It resulted in 25% short term fuel trims at idle. The Manufacturer spec'd Injector Opening Times for the ID1050X's were almost spot on which leaves me with the same question I started with. When you have a perfect fuel map, how do you trim or add dead times to find that perfect spot again? It should be possible in theory but I guess I can also drive the car around for a while and retune the whole fuel map...

In the past we have found the ID supplied dead times are too low. There are two factors in the injector delivery and so you can change the slope or the offset of the injector pulse / fuel delivery relationship and end up better in one spot, but that does not mean you're better all around.

So drive the vehicle, get into 3rd or 4th gear at 3000-4000 rpm, then easy off the throttle very very slowly so that the injector pulse decreases until it cuts off. Ideally you do this over 20 seconds or more, especially at the very low injector opening end.

Then crop the datalog and graph the short term fuel trim vs injector duration. The slope of the line will tell you if the dead times are good or not.

Using the ID1050x stock numbers right now, the s-trims are asking for about 15% more fuel on average. I did some quick math and that agrees with the 25% recommended fuel cut from the Hondata spec ID1000 recommendation so overall, I'd say that the magic numbers are plotted as Test Spec. I'll run them tomorrow to confirm but that is still a significant increase over their stock recommendation like you were saying.

Disregard last. 15% across the board did not work.

Ended up going with [8.00 @ 2100], [10.00 @ 1680],[12.00 @ 1300],[14.00 @ 1150],[16.00 @ 1000]
