S300 randomly flashing overheating code with engine not running

Post by ncjmj »

I have a P28 with S300 V2 and a VTEC-converted P06 with S300 V3 and both ECUs will randomly flash the overheating code 11 while I'm parked with the ignition on but the engine off (flashing as if the service connector is jumped, but it's not). When I pull vitals from the ECU, the ECT is always below the MIL threshold, and there's never an active code displayed through Hondata. My ECT sensor always agrees with the dash gauge, as well. I can't for the life of me figure out why it's doing this and the search function and Google have been no help. TIA for any info

Is this after it has been running and you shut it off then come back a few minutes later?

I sit in the car before going in to work early in the mornings and the issue has only happened after the car sat idling in the parking lot for <5min, but the MIL doesn't come on before shutting off the car. The ECT stays between 195-205°F at idle when I've logged it. Stock D16Z6 with Hondata P28 fuel and ignition tables

It is because it is heat soaking after you shut it off and the fans are not on. Try setting your overheating temp to 220 instead.
