Gear based target boost

Has anyone played around with this new setting yet? im currently BBG with 100rpm increments. How exactly does the "target boost" work?

I just use duty cycle instead of target boost. I've found thhat the target boost is fairly unreliable with weather changes due to the fact that it is not a reading from the map sensor, but rather a calculation according to the table you manually fill out for what duty cycle equals what boost level. It also doesn't always stay consistent from gear to gear.
My suggestion is just stick to boost by gear by rpm using duty cycle. It's just always been easier and more consistent/reliable for me
