Boost by Gear question

Hi,

How does BBG work in for the 1.5T CVT(and in M/T assuming same implementation?)

Does it limit boost by decreasing throttle plate opening? Decreasing timing? Decreasing wastegate opening?

OR any of the combination mentioned above depending on how the ECU wants it?

I'm in the process of running BBG and limiting 3-4-5 and 6th gear to just 22psi instead of 25psi map I currently run on my 1.5T CVT. Based on my logs, this TD03 turbo, tropical climate and fuel I have hates to see 25psi at 5500 to 6500rpm. IAT and ECT shoots up fast! Looking to limit those areas to just 22psi at 3-6th gear for a more safer topspeed and high speed track runs.

Thanks!

it will override your main target boost pressure table as long it's a lower value. Does not affect your throttle or timing

Quick note after fiddling with it,

BBG for CVT is a bit inconsistent. Im not sure if this is a software issue or what. Im having a hard time targeting BP and it is way off to what I set. I changed the index RPMs though, maybe that bugged it a bit?

Didn't used it for now.

post your calibration and datalog of the problem

Sorry, i deleted my cal already since it's just a test cal.

Below is what I recalled my BBG settings. My boost map back then is targeting 24-25 psi across the board above 4000rpm.

Please see attached log.

Thanks!

You will need to post the calibration that the datalog is made with. Without that there is nothing to really go on.
