problem downloading from s300. possible smanager issue?

Post by crluver123 »

I have s300v1 serial 12996, I have replaced the battery component on the board with a genuine oem part about 6 months ago, and all worked perfectly until today. Today I tried downloading the map from the ecu for the first time in about 1-2 months, and the map is completely corrupt. Everything else works flawlessly. It datalogs fine, records fine, uploads fine, runs perfect, does not lose the map on key cycle, no red lights, all communications are perfect. I have tried clearing the datalog memory and erasing the ecu multiple times, but it still does the same thing. I also tried downloading immediately after erasing, and it still gave me a corrupt map instead of the generic civic map that used to download after erasing.
I am on version 2.6.5.0 currently.
The only thing that has changed since I was last able to download from the ecu is the smanager version. I was on 2.5.5 for a while and it always downloaded fine. Is this a glitch in the newest version of the software?
I also have a second laptop that still has 2.5.5 installed and I tried downloading from the ecu with that, but the download option is greyed out for some reason, possibly because of the popup saying the software is more than 6 months old? It still datalogs and everything perfectly fine though, and loads and displays recordings perfectly.
I tried a second ecu as well to eliminate that as a possibility, and it still does the same exact thing.
Is there something in the current version of smanager that doesn't work well with downloading from a v1 board?

Unfortunately with all the changes and additions to the software and support for the version 2 and 3 there is nothing that can be done about this. The version 1 was never designed to be downloaded from and that is why there is the warning when you try to download from it. It is also possible that the replacement component you have used is counterfeit and has led to issues as well.

ok thank you.
I know the component is not counterfeit, I buy directly from the manufacturers themselves, or occasionally though a reputable nationwide supplier for major electronics manufacturers.
It's not a big deal for me to not be able to download from it, I was just more curious if it's a known problem and if it was in fact related to the newest software update considering I was able to download just fine with the older version software before the 6 month warning started

side note, is there a way to disable the new feature of the cel automatically blinking stored trouble codes? I thought there was an option to turn that feature on or off, but can't for the life of me find it in smanager

That feature cannot be disabled in the software.
