28-Pin Solder Concern

Post by YewllowDA »

I notice that there are circuits on both sides of the board. And the male pins that came with the the s300 seem to be only for the backside.

Does it mean other side of the board not suppose to be touching the pins? This seems to be different from the 'socket' types as the pins are still exposed even when fully seated, thus making it look like both sides of the board are connected to the pins.

Want to know if the S300 utilizes both sides of the board through 28-pin? As well as the 4-pin area?

Thanks

both sides. the holes in the board are metal and pass all the way through. so when the pins are soldered on the bottom side, the solder sucks through the hole and makes contact with both sides

Have you read the ECU socketing information in the help file: http://www.hondata.com/help/smanager/s3 ... keting.htm

Yes i did. Also, the knockboard ribbon seems to be impossible to fit between the board and the s300. It' hitting a few components. What's the workaround? The instruction only mention about the ribbon not to be caught or bent

No actual picture at the moment, but it's a JDM P72. The ribbon is starting to hit C19 and ZD1 components if the knock board. Can't mount flush to the ECU case.

You will have to bend some of the components slightly to clear.

Well, ZR9 in the knockboard as it is hitting C17 of S300. I dont think either is bendable.

You can bend ZR9 down to give more clearance.
