So I've just got a FlashPro for my 2017 SI and was doing a bit of logging before any real tuning just to get the feel for normality. I have noticed that I get lots of "Knock Retard" blips from 5 to 6 degree. I have assumed that this knock is a sensitivity issue or maybe even an anticipation of knock. The knock control stays around 55% which I also assume is normal with 93 octane and zero knock is recorded from each individual cylinder. The knock retard events occur when changing gears, starting the car, possibly bumps in the road, and very momentarily at the start of full throttle.
Knock retard was logged while running the "Stock equivalent" base map

Re: 2017 Civic SI knock Retard
This is normal, don't worry about it.
Re: 2017 Civic SI knock Retard
The way Honda knock control works is that there will be knock retard without any knock. It is normal.

Thanks, I had a feeling that this is normal strategy.
