P0341 with cam107 degrees

I have a new KSwap (MR2 Spyder) with a 2003 RSX engine and am trying to get rid of P0341 (valve timing phase gap) error code. I am getting this with Cam sensor reading 107 degrees and the cam target value or 0 degrees. I there some special meaning to 107 degrees? I see that the KManager software Help section on sensors actually shows this combination of CAM and Cam target as an example. I am guessing that CAM 107 is not a real reading but indicative of a cam sensor problem; is this correct? The engine starts and idles well.

The valve timing is incorrect. Pull the valve cover off, and check the alignment of the cam sensor wheels at the flywheel end of the engine, with the engine at TDC. The arrows on the sensors should align with the parting line in the #5 cam cap. Sorry I don't have a photo of this. You can use the special links on the timing chain and/or the marks on the cam sprockets, but using the sensors marking is more accurate.

Are you suggesting that the engine is idling and driving well with the actual cam timing off by 107 degrees? Also the Cam graph in Kmanager is a perfectly steady straight line at 107. I was hoping you could tell me that 107 is a typical reading when the cam sensor is bad or the cm-phaser is stuck, or some common problem like that. You show 107 degrees in the help example.

You have P0341 so you need to check the valve timing.
Where do you see the 107 degree reading? 'CAM' & 'CAMCMD'?

I have Cam = 107 and Cam cmd =0
The graph of Cam is very smooth and flat

I suspect that the value of 107 is because VTS is disabled or from the error. In any case, there is an error, so it must be fixed.
Are you using an ECU set up for 02-04, or modified 05-06?

I am using an ECU setup for a 02-04 RSXS.
Doesn't 107 have some special significance, like full retard or no sensor signal?

02-04 should be ok. Now fix the cam timing.
