Hello Hondata Team,
I am one of the original week-one flash-pro adopters from 7/09. So first let me say thanks so much for almost a decade of automotive joy due to this product. I really miss having some of the new features but the core product is still one of my favorite purchases of all time.
I purchased FP for my 08 Mugen Si. The car has an Intake manifold polish, SRI, SSR header and Mugen Cat-Back exhaust. This set-up was dyno tuned ages ago (3 sessions total, changed intake once) and has been driven with the same map for years and years without a hint of issues. The tune works so well that I actually hadn't seen the flashpro in quite awhile as it had been in storage for years.
My dyno tune has a VTEC x-over at 3,000rpm so there is a torque dip as a result. Just recently I re-discovered my flashpro, got everything updated and tried some of the other basemaps just to see how they feel (tinkering). During this I found that the FD2-R reflash felt absolutely amazing in my car (especially on the low to mid range). What a relief to have a flat torque curve after all these years - wow. So here's my question...
Is it unsafe to run this map on the USDM Mugen Si taking my mods into consideration? Are the K20Z3 and K20A/FD2 cams so similar that its not that big a difference? Or is this dangerous?
Please advise - thanks!
