S300 v2 - Dual Map external switch question

I need help with understanding how to setup dual map switch over with an external switch. I will be running flex fuel and would like to have a button to switch maps for higher boost on e85. I will be using boost solenoid as well and it's my understanding that I would be able to switch to low boost and high boost settings when running 93 and e85.

I read that AC button could be used to switch maps but I didn't really understand how to wire it or ground it? I don't have AC but when I set my HVAC to defrost my AC button automatically turns on. Wouldn't that cause a problem if I am on 93 octane.

Can I just hookup my own external switch? How would I wire it?

You would have to use an external switch as the OEM AC switch is not wired in a way you can just connect a wire and it work. Details on these inputs can be found in the help file: http://www.hondata.com/help/smanager/switchinputs.htm

So I would just hookup one end of the switch to body ground or any ground wire and the other end goes to B5 on OBD1 ECU and I would cut the existing B5 ACS wire so the only wire connected to B5 would be coming from this switch?

Is my picture correct?

Also if I wanted to use a lighted switch so I could see when it's on I would give it a 12V source for light?

Yes that should work.

If you want a lighted switch just make sure that you connect it correctly and you do not burn out inputs on the ECU by improperly grounding or short circuiting them.

I got the two pin switch working but trying to figure out how to get a lighted switch working or a switch with external LED so I know when the Dual map is activated so I don't forget. I tried using a DPST switch with 4 pins but as soon as I connect the LED to ground the map switches to primary and toggling the switch does nothing. I tested the terminals on left and right side of the switch to see if they were connected somehow as pictured below with multi meter and got no connection. The only way they connect is each side separately from top to bottom when switch is on. If I don't wire the LED light then toggling the switch switches to secondary map fine. I just have to remember to switch it off when not using e85 fuel.

Has anyone successfully wired a illuminated switch to DUAL map setup?
