Upload failed, now solid red light

Post by 2x0 »

I purchased a car that already had Hondata S300 installed and tuned. Was done by Full Blown Motorsports in Eagan MN.

I wanted to make some tweaks, installed Smanager and downloaded the map from the ECU. Light was green and all was good.

Then, after making minor adjustments to the cranking ECT fuel table, I tried uploading my new tune to the ECU. The Upload Failed error occured, and ever since the light has been solid red. Won't upload or datalog. Can't drive the car because it dies in cold temps, tune didn't compensate for e85 in cold temps which is what Im trying to fix.

Should I erase the Ecu? I'm afraid I still won't be able to upload a tune back to it and the car will not be driveable.

*Edit: Here is info on my S300

Serial: S300-10,074

S Manager Version 2.5.5.0 on Windows XP

P28 ECU running B18 engine w/B16 Head
1000cc Injectors, E85, everything upgraded, turbo

From S300 tab on Smanager while online:

Hardware:
Version - 1
Status - Normal
Serial - 10074
Firmware Version - 1.04
Software Version - 2.1.1

Calibration that I would like to upload is attached.

As an update, I tried erasing the ECU to see if it would help. It said the erase failed, but now if I download from it it shows a stock tune and not the one I had on it before. So pretty sure the car won't even start or run at this point, haven't tried. Would really like some help, might need this car as a means of transport soon.

Please help.

Thanks!

You can try erasing , but it sounds like the battery in the s300 has failed and there is no way to correct this. Your only option is to upgrade to the s300 v3. Details on upgrading can be found at: https://www.hondata.com/downloads/s300v ... e_form.pdf

Awesome, thank you for that!

Can you answer... how long does it take for turnaround typically? Will it upload the calibrations I had saved from the current S300?

I will try erasing again. Does it make a difference that the light flashes green for a split second when I turn on the ignition before it goes red, and that I can still download from the ECU?

Thanks!

Turn around is usually 1-2 days. You should save the file to your laptop before sending it in, but there is no guaranty that the calibration saved form the s300 will not be corrupt.

Okay thank you very much sir.

I will keep working with it tonight to see if I can get the green light to come on. If not, I will send in the ECU tomorrow.

Thanks!

I have my ECU boxed up and ready to go. Just wanted to check, my laptop does not have bluetooth. Will I still be able to plug into a USB port with my V3 upgrade?

Thanks

Excellent, thank you for your swift responses. ECU was overnighted to Hondata today.

I received my ECU back today, holy crow that was fast!!

Do I need to register my new S300 for the warranty to be in effect?

Thanks
