VTC OIL CONTROL ALL THE SAME???

Post by civic1234 »

OK I just used an 04 Accord K24A4 VTC oil control valve on my new TSX head now I have a check engine light for the VTC not being aligned.
Before I go check my timing chain I just want to confirm if the VTC valve for all K series will work on any K Series head.

I looked up the part number of RSX, Accord and TSX and they all seem to have all different part numbers.
If using a different VTC Valve the reason for the MIL???

Just wondering if anyone knows if there is a difference between the VTC Spool Valves among the different K motors. I have a K24A4 with k24A2 TSX Head, so which VTC Spool Valve Assy. would be utilized? There are different part numbers for the spool valve assy. between the "E-Vtec" and the "I-Vtec" motors. Heres a post courtesy of Froth of the different part numbers.

-VTC Spool valve assembly
Accord 03-05 VTC Spool Assembly P/N: - 15810-RAA-A01
CRV 03-05 VTC Spool Assembly P/N: - 15810-RAA-A01
Civic 03-05 VTC Spool Assembly P/N: - 15810-RAA-A01
Element 03-05 VTC Spool Assembly P/N: - 15810-RAA-A01
RSX 02-06 VTC Spool Assembly P/N: - 15810-RAA-A01
RSX-S 02-06 VTC Spool Assembly P/N: - 15810-PRB-A01
TSX 04-05 VTC Spool Assembly P/N: - 15810-PRB-A01

Both the Accord and TSX uses only 20 degree cam angle BTW

I was wanting to know if that can be used off my k24a4 head onto the k20a2 head. Since they both spool the oil pressure for vtec I figured there would be no difference.

If you are getting an error then they may not be interchangeable.
