Very rich idle

Post by toanzh22a4 »

Hello

I'm a bit stumped on how the engine is responding after putting the engine back together. The recent changes are a 4piston cnc race head with stock size valves and adjusting the intake cam to +2 and adjusting the exhaust cam to -1. While engine was out I also decided to clean up the wiring harness and do a bit of a tuck. ( most connectors were de-pinned one at a time to add the nice black threaded looming). Before that was a stock head with +1mm intake/exhaust valves with intake cam @ 0 degrees and exhaust cam @ -2 degrees. Car ran fine last year with stock head with ddtech camshafts.

So first start up, engine running very, very rich. AFR was bouncing around 10-10.5. The fuel columns required 70% less to get the engine to idle somewhat smoothly. With that adjustment it now idles around 12.5-13.5. To me, that seems very abnormal?? Unsure on what else to check or what can could this symptom. Wondering if you have any ideas on where to look.

I've attached both maps for reviewing.
Let me know what you guys think
