S300 - no green light next to usb

Hi, I have been having trouble the past few days trying to get my car to start, 94 eg s300 p28 with CPR kit fitted and boost by gear.

After a rebuild on the engine I have tried to start the engine and it just cranks over with no spark. Getting fuel and feed back to CPR IGN light pulsing correctly but no SYNC light on. Then after some checking of wires, pins, sensors, earths, voltages, and main relay all were fine. Plugged in the Smanager to see what was happening and get a notification 'Ecu connected' but when going on to datalogging nothing happens, it says IAT and ECT 302 degrees and no repose from TPS or brake switch. When on ignition key it has a constant eml even when service connector linked and no codes on Smanager. While troubleshooting following many guides on this forum I found the s300 only has led d4 lit up. No green light at d2 and only getting 1 red flash from d1 when connecting the usb to laptop. Then flashing red when trying to datalog.

Is this a bad Ecu/s300. Any help and advice welcome.

Thanks for reading

What is the serial number on the s300 board inside the ECU?

From Help, About, what is the version of software you are using?

If the lights on the s300 are not coming on, then it sounds like the ECU may need it's capacitors replaced as it is not powering the s300 fully.

Would this be the case if the green led at d4 is lighting up? As from research it is the main power indicator for the s300?

no, that light may come on if the 4 pin connector doesn't make good contact/is poorly soldered, or the capacitors are bad. Since these ECU's are over 20 years old, it is common to see the capacitors go bad.

Have swapped my Hondata in to a friends Ecu running Hondata and it throws code 0 on eml and no lights on the Hondata board. And tried my friends working Hondata board in my Ecu and it works fine all powered up and car running. There is a problem it seems with the s300 board that I have installed in my p28 Ecu.

The s300 is out of warranty and the best thing to do would be to upgrade to the s300 v3. Details on this can be found at: https://www.hondata.com/downloads/s300v ... e_form.pdf
