Flashpro help needed please...
So i got another Flashpro.... (FN2 Euro R) hooked it up and installed the Group N map... no exaggeration i got 400 knock counts accross cylinders 2+3 in 10 mins... tried the Flashpro stock equivalent cal, same story... I then reset back to factory ECU and monitored the sensors... not one single knock over 30 mins... So what is going on??!!
The first Flashpro and istallation of FPM I had did not have this issue... i remember clocking around 20 knocks in an hour on a tweaked group N... so this has me baffled... Car drives fine with both group N and stock equiv, certainly no audible pinging...
So Ive just ran the FP through bluetooth and the mobile app as opposed to my laptop whilst monitoring the sensors, i notice that all is fine for the first 10 mins of driving then the knock control randomly drops in and out and can sit at 0.00 for a few mins (it sits at 55% on idle and usually up to 98% whilst driving) - it seems to be during this time when the knock is registering.. Im baffled..
Why is knock only registering on the Flashpro cals? Something is not right. Many thanks in advance.
Johnny.
Just read a post that says the Factory cal dosent register knock, as that was something added in by Hondata on the FP... in which case can anyone see anything majorly wrong on my datalogs? Im starting to wonder if poorly adjusted valves could be the issue here...
Ive included 'Datalog2' which is a run out on the stock ECU - no knock presents itself and the ign limit is 25 throughout unlike the Group N where it's all over the place. Admittedly I'm a little out of my depth regarding the understanding of the majority of the different features on FP, so any help is much appreciated.

Re: Flashpro problems (CAL + Datalog now attached)
You cannot compare to a return to stock as it cannot log knock like a Hondata calibration can. Have you talked to a tuner about the issues you are having?
Re: Flashpro problems (CAL + Datalog now attached)
Thanks for taking the time to reply, no I havent spoken to a tuner, I installed the group N for the first time back in Feb, I had the same mods that I have now and i saw very little knock.
I ended up selling that first flashpro to release some cash but purchased another last week, thats why I cant understand why the knock count is shooting up.
Ive been driving around the last few days and the overall count is lower, I checked and adjusted all the valve clearances and now have a higher octane fuel in and the knocks are around 130 in 20 mns, with 90% on c3.
Ive tried adjusting the cyl trim on 3 but it makes no difference whatsoever regardless of how much I advance or retard it.
I dont have the cash to speak to a tuner and get the car on a dyno just now, Is there anything you think I could do to improve the situation from looking at the datalogs?
Many thanks
Johnny

Re: Flashpro problems (CAL + Datalog now attached)
Been having another go at sorting this out, I now understand the ignition tables and the individual cylinder trim... But absolutely NOTHING changes no matter how much i advance or retard. At one point i advanced the cylinder trims each to +6.00 and nothing changed.
Why?
Thanks
Why?
Thanks
Re: Flashpro problems (CAL + Datalog now attached)
It sounds like you may be making changes to the wrong cam angles and it is not running from the tables that you are making the changes to.
Re: Flashpro problems (CAL + Datalog now attached)
Right... so maybe i dont understand the ignition tables!.. but I think I understand what you mean.. so ive established that the knock occurs from 1450 to 4000 rpm at Cam angle 15 to 30 degrees so does that mean i need to change all values from 10 to 30? Also do i need to apply these changes to both the low ignition table and high ignition? Or is high Ignition only applicable when the car is in Vtec?
Thanks in advance... very slowly getting my head round this

Re: Flashpro problems (CAL + Datalog now attached)
You need to make the change to the actual table it is reading from where the knock occurs.
Re: Flashpro problems (CAL + Datalog now attached)
Changed the correct fields but no success.. just going to ignore it and hope it goes away, if she blows, she blows.
c'est la vie

Solved the issue... now getting only 20 knocks accross a 20 min run which is tolerable...
For anyone stumbling accross this thread .... I cleaned the MAF with electrical cleaner... and the knocks went from 500 on a 20 min run to 20
