No start after changing engine

Hi

This is my first post on here and I was hoping someone could help me out.

I have a JDM 98 Spec DC2 with K20 TTS Rotrex setup. It was running a DC5 K20A but it spun a bearing so I changed the engine for a UK K20A2. I swapped the the K20A cams into the K20A2 and replaced the chain and tensioner. At first the engine wouldn't start at all so I checked the sensors on K manager and all looked good apart from the IAT was reading low at 33F. It's around 65F here at the minute.

I double checked everything was plugged in which it was and kept trying. It will now run for a few seconds at low revs then cut out. If I touch the throttle it cuts out straight away. I noticed now the MAP sensor is reading -22 psi and does not change. I checked back on my datalog from earlier and the MAP sensor was hovering around 0 and seemed to change a bit when cranking but I had no start at all. Now it is at -22 psi it does try and start. I am getting a correct TPS reading so the plugs cannot be the wrong way round.

I never had any problems with the old engine at all. Does anybody have any ideas?

Try the ECU in a known working vehicle and if it works correctly then you know you need to look at the wiring in your own vehicle.

You really need to try this in a known working vehicle. Find someone on the forums or Facebook to help you test locally.

I'll try and find another car to test it in but it was running fine a few weeks ago.

Update:

It was a faulty IAT sensor. I also had to replace the MAP sensor as plugging the TPS plug into burnt it out.
