KPro4 Lotus K20 questions
KPro4 Lotus K20 questions
- what vehicle you have (2005 Lotus Elise)
- serial number of your K-Pro (0209-201152-2J02)
- version of software being used (from Help, About), haven't hooked used the software yet, so none
- ECU part number (starts with 37820) and serial number (the number under the part number) (37820-PRD-003)
- KManager version (not 'the latest'), haven't hooked used the software yet, so none
- the calibration (as an attachment), haven't hooked used the software yet, so none
- a datalog of a problem (as an attachment),haven't hooked used the software yet, so none
- anything about the car which has been modified from stock which may affect the ECU (don't include what sort of rims you have nor stereo etc)., Exhaust wil be different, but I haven't started it yet, so no issues here
- when and where you got the K-Pro, Bought it straight from Hondata about 6 months ago
- a specific description of the problem, Wiring issues / questions.
1) In the description of the CAN outputs, Pin #3 is connect to ground via momentary switch for 2008+ cluster. What do you do with this if you have a 2005?
2) Pin #10 you say to connect to +12V, but the board says VSS. I know it is ot a VSS output because VSS is sent to the dash via CAN connections, so is this +12V Battery or switched?
3) Similar to #2, on your wiring schematic you show pin #3 on the engine harness to the speedo. Is it right to assume with the KPro4 CAN connections, this will not be connected?
4) Similar to #3, on your wiring schematic you show pin #E26 to the tach. Is it right to assume with the KPro4 CAN connections, this will not be connected?
5) In other documentation, it is said to get the fuel gauge to work, you will need to do the following (Lotus wire #111 fuel tank level +5V to E15 ELD, Lotus wire #102 tank level to E5 VCC3, Lotus wire #104 fuel tank level ground to E4 SG3). My question is my PRD ECU stock connector does not have a wire going into the E5 location (female connector attached to the chassis not the ECU), but a pin does exist on the ECU with a terminal going to the board). Is it safe to assume I can crimp a wire into the E5 connector and the board will support this function?
6) I am assuming the engine harness pin #18 oil pressure will not be used due to CAN function?
Thanks in advance for your help. Not used to this much wiring. Do you have any recommendation on a good harness if I do not succeed. I would like to have an adapter harness that utilizes the Lotus relays instead of adding a bunch of piggy back relays. Just not 100% sure if it is possible.

Re: KPro4 Lotus K20 questions
#1 Nothing. Only the 2008 dash has a LCD which can display messages.
#2, #3, #4 What wiring diagram? For the Lotus the ECU speed output and tach signal are sent via CAN.
#5 The PRD ECU does not support ELD.
#6 What diagram / pin is #18?

Re: KPro4 Lotus K20 questions
Thanks for the quick reply. So most of the questions were concerning this wiring schematic: https://www.hondata.com/tech-k20-swap-wiring
I am not here questioning the schematic it looks good, just trying to understand how it applies to my car as I think it is a general swap guide.
Also, So for my PRD ECU, the wiring harness (E connector) that came with the ECU from the donor car had the ELD at Pin #15 (Green / Red wire coming out of factory harness). So why would this exist if not supported? Again, just trying to understand (I am mechanical not electrical minded for sure : )

Re: KPro4 Lotus K20 questions
So still looking at my original questions, any thoughts on the E5 (VCC3) question? I am not sure what you mean by FTP.
Re: KPro4 Lotus K20 questions
FTP = fuel tank pressure. It should work if you wire the fuel tank level sensor to the same ECU pins as the FTP sensor.

Re: KPro4 Lotus K20 questions
good afternoon, I have a 2005 Elise with k swap, just can't get the cluster to work I've wired exactly to hondata help settings <but pin e24 is not the can output for the kpro to cluster it seems it's e23 I've called numerous times for assistance, please help me out to get this going to complete swap.
1.charge light on cluster, but cooling fan works
2.no fuel gauge working but wired according to hondata
3.no cluster function
vehicle start and runs great just no cluster communication as this Elise only has 9k trying to preserve value. appreciate prompt response.

Re: KPro4 Lotus K20 questions
did a quick check and the can hook up via scan tool for Elise reads all parameters?? really puzzled just need cluster to read outputs.. hate replying to my self ,but I feel this should be crystal clear to all questions to gain answers.
appreciate any feedback

Re: KPro4 Lotus K20 questions
What is the serial number of your K-Pro board inside the ECU?

Can you also clarity the e24 can hook as it seems its e23 any help ..thank you for your time
Re: KPro4 Lotus K20 questions
You must connect the cluster to the can output on the K-Pro board ( http://www.hondata.com/help/kmanager/di ... ub=digital ). To select this in the software go to the Multiplexer/Digital Output tab and select disabled for the multiplexer, then for digital output select disabled and for can output select Lotus (2005).

Re: KPro4 Lotus K20 questions
I appreciate response, I see 2 outputs on can 1.can L (yellow wire) and 2. can H (blue wire) which one connects to cluster? that's all I need to get this Elise back on road please help.
also last does the Digital out put from either can L or can H connect to what pin on lotus ecu pin out? I believe its pin 58,but I may be mistaken appreciate prompt response.

Re: KPro4 Lotus K20 questions
You must connect both can wires. There is CAN high and CAN low.
